Band Bio
DSM formed in the winter of 1997. During this young
hardworking four piece’s short time together,
DSM has supported such acts as New York’s Sick
of it All, Santa Cruz's Good Riddance – both of
the Fat Wreck chords label, Epitaph Records Ten Foot
Pole, Australian band Mindsnare, and recently amongst
many widely renown acts on the New Zealand leg of The
Vans Warped tour, notably Pennywise & Unwritten
Law. DSM’s sound in the past has been compared
to bands such as Sick of it All, Suicidal Tendencies,
Madball and Agnostic Front, although their influences
come from a broad cross section of punk and hardcore.
Other achievements include tours of Australia. Attention
and rave reviews from Auckland musical fanzine 'In My
Own Defense'. Interviews and airplay from Auckland’s
95Bfm. Also attention and an appearance on TV2’s
Music show “Squeeze TV”. DSM have been noted
for their energetic live shows with a high level of
crowd interaction characteristic of the legendary New
York hardcore punk scene.
To date DSM have had various material released both
locally and Internationally, tracks have appeared on
compilations both in the USA & Europe as well as
the 1157 release “Live Hardcore” and their
